Cochem:

The castle of Cochem was first mentioned in 1130. It was destroyed in 1689. In 1868 Jakob Louis Ravené purchased it for 300 Gold Marks and built it in its present form. Since 1978 the city of Cochem owns it.

Burg Eltz:

Burg Eltz is a medieval castle nestled in the hills above the Moselle River between Koblenz and Trier, Germany. It is still owned by a branch of the same family that lived there in the 12th century, 33 generations ago. The Rübenach and Rodendorf families' homes in the castle are open to the public, while the Kempenich branch of the family uses the other third of the castle. Well known since the castle was displayed on the former 500 Deutsche Mark notes

Treis-Karden

Treis-Karden is a wine-growing region and holiday destination near Cochem in south-west Germany. It is made up of 17 villages that extend either side of the enchanting Moselle river to the foreland of the Hunsrück and Eifel hills. You'll find our hotel and restaurant with its sunny terrace and specious parking directly along the Moselle.

Historically speaking this is a wealthy region: remnants of the Roman (Trier!) and Celtic past are waiting to be discovered. In Karden the collegiate church of St. Kastor teaches us all about the former local Christian missionary frowm whom the church takes its name. The Museum or Religious History displays important discoveries and artefacts from Celtic, Roman and Franconian times, while the village's history as a collegiate parish is preserved in the beautiful old canons' houses.

Reizendes Feriengebiet

The oldest City in Germany: Trier

The best way to discover Treis-Karden is by sightseeing by car, motorcycle, bike or boat. For those who love the outdoors, there are marked trails, cycle paths and plenty of water-based activities. Every season this region has plenty to offer: from the bright yellow rape fields and rosy vineyard peaches to the golden autumn of the grape harvest.
